VAUTID W3

For thin-walled components (30mm maximum) subject to low impact and high abrasion
VAUTID W3 is first in the range of highly wear-resistant casting materials developed by VAUTID engineers. This alloy has been specifically designed for thin-walled components which are subject to severe abrasion.

VAUTID W3 is a “naturally hard” material, i.e. it is already hard in its as-cast condition, and no heat treatment is needed to activate its wear-resistant properties. Which means that components cast in genuine VAUTID W3 offer a clear cost advantage.

Because of this material’s high wear-resistance, components made from VAUTID W3 cannot be machined.

Recommended applications:

Cast components that are exposed to temperatures up to 400°C.
Thin-walled components (< 30 mm) that are subject to severe abrasion, e.g. tiles used as liners in mixing plants or agitators.
