VAUTID W4

For thin-walled components (30 mm max) that are subject to a combination of impact and abrasion
Due to their extreme hardness, components cast in VAUTID W4 offer outstanding resistance to abrasive wear. This specification has been adapted to give exceptional ductility, enabling it to handle moderate impact and shock loadings.

VAUTID W4 is a “naturally hard” material, i.e. its wear resistant properties are present as soon as the casting forms. Since no expensive heat treatment is required, products made in genuine VAUTID W4 offer a particularly economical solution.

Because of the material’s high wear-resistance, components made from VAUTID W4 cannot be machined.

Recommended applications:

Cast components that are exposed to temperatures up to 400°C.
Thin-walled components (< 30 mm) that are subject to abrasion and impact, e.g. liners in crushing plants, or deflector plates.
